HYT broke into watchmaking in 2012 with its first model, the H1. I remember the sense of wonder I felt when I first saw this

However, I also considered whether HYT could build on the H1 further and present a new timepiece that showcases a completely different aesthetic. With the release of the H2 and subsequent H3, H4 and Skull watches, my concerns were allayed. HYT's ability to reinvent itself and launch new models is impressive.
In 2017, HYT launched the H0, a new 'entry-level' model featuring a glass cased sapphire crystal that allows the brand's innovative liquid-filled capillary to be seen from the side. Its exterior creates a new stereopsis and, in my opinion, represents some of the brand's best work with its pure, uncluttered design.
At SIHH 2018, HYT once again demonstrated its creative prowess with the release of the new H2O. The H2O sits above the H0, housing a more complicated movement inside a domed case. HYT H2O is available in two limited editions, one with "green fluid hour indication" and the other with "blue fluid hour indication". Personally, I prefer the latter model.

Similar to other HYT watches, a glass capillary surrounds the dial area. In this case, the meniscus formed between the blue liquid and the clear liquid indicates the hours. Minutes are communicated by bold red skeletonized hands and scales surrounding the dial. Indexes alternate between Arabic numerals and red batons. In addition, the hour markers have a remarkable depth, which can be seen from the side.
Another red hand is used for the crown position indicators "H", "N" and "R". Interestingly, thanks to the openworked dial area, the wearer is able to see the mechanical operation of the movement components.
Unusually, the watch is equipped with a "heat indicator," a feature that shows when a liquid is in its optimum temperature range.
HYT H1 Diamond dome chrysobery
The display shares a lot with the H2, but looks different thanks to the domed sapphire crystal. Every component is filled with light. Another feature of the movement is the judicious application of blue PVD coating on the bridges. The application of this color makes the presented watch landscape more vivid.
Numbers also beautify the vertical sides of the sapphire crystal. Each numeral representing the hour is rendered in three dimensions for added visual appeal.
Despite the movement parts adorning the dial area, everything remains simple and easy to read thanks to the blue liquid and the striking red minute hand.

HYT timepieces have a trend towards larger sizes, and the H2O is no exception, reaching a size of 51mm. Still, despite its bulky size, the stainless steel case isn't overly large due to the lack of lugs. The textured black rubber strap curves down sharply to wrap neatly around the wrist.

The crown is located at 2 o'clock to reduce the risk of scratching the wrist. Decorating the back of the case is a sapphire crystal that reveals the hand-wound HYT movement inside.
Two bellows pumps are visible through the bottom cover. Additionally, the area near the bellows pump provides a view through the motion.
Bridges in sandblasted titanium with blue PVD coating. The mainspring can be seen through the hollow barrel. There is a power reserve indicator on the movement.

HYT has created another highly original timepiece. The H2O follows the HYT convention of displaying the hours using a brightly colored blue liquid, but the appearance of this timepiece is distinctly different from that of its siblings.

The various movement bridges are embellished with a stylish blue PVD coating. The use of this color makes the minute hand and crown position indicator hands stand out and facilitates reading. In addition, the appearance of the bridge is also particularly eye-catching.
A domed sapphire crystal lets light illuminate the movement components in the center of the dial. The balance, escapement, and other movement components that are often hidden from view are on public display.
A key attribute of HYT H2O relates to the side view of the dial area. The design of the watch allows the bellows pump etc. to be seen from the side of the case. In addition, the hour markers located near the capillary have a pleasing depth and are especially striking when viewed from the case.
This timepiece plays with light, color and depth to great effect. The sight of various moving parts is fascinating, but not at the expense of legibility. The HYT H20 further showcases the ingenuity of this avant-garde company and presents an intriguing claim of ownership.
